Why Resilient Dorks Meet Up

Have you ever wanted to improve yourself? Probably. For us, it seems that much of that process of self-growth happens individually. We reflect, alone. We create goals, alone. We read books, alone. It doesn’t need to be that way. We can come together, sharing this process of growth & discovery. 

We can find healing, helpful power in community just by listening & learning from one another. What works, what doesn’t, and why? We can help keep each other accountable too. This is why resilient dorks meet up.

It’s a group coming together to support each other through action. Our foundation is built upon mental health. We understand that life can hit hard. Some of us have struggled to live in it functionally. We want to support each other in a shared quest to get better. 

It’s important to go back to the basics. There’s tremendous power in the most simple things. Meeting weekly, to support one another, is a simple thing. That’s what we are investing in: simple solutions to complex problems. 

Dork Meetups started out of a need. Within the dork dancing community, people were coming together for mental health but impact was limited to dancing. There’s more to build upon. More work, opportunity, and healthy habits waiting to be learned, practiced, and adopted. 

We are coming together to reflect, strategize, and take action. Mental health isn’t a spectator sport. It demands awareness & discipline. That’s not easy, so we are here to help one another: that’s why resilient dorks meetup.
