What about them goals? #resilientdorks
To kick off Resilient Dorks in the New Year, Kelsey decided to teach some skills that are particularly relevant around this time of the year: goals. It’s not just about picking goals and saying you want to do them. To make goals work, you have to be a bit more aware. After all, how many of our goals ultimately flop? There’s reason. In Kelsey’s workshop, she helped dorks learn strategies to overcome this.
Kelsey has her very own “SYMPLEE” Method. Specify a SMART goal. Identify Y it is important to you, understand your motivations! Mentally visualize the process of working on the goal and worst-case scenarios, anticipate the roadblocks. Plan the steps. List the actionable tasks. Establish your time commitment and execute. Of course, she goes into detail to describe how exactly to best follow these steps.
Despite the cold weather and the wind, still 20 dorks showed up to Kelsey’s event. Again, there’s reason. People want to improve, grow, and ultimately, feel better about themselves and the way they are leading their lives. Kelsey has now facilitated a few workshops to help her community in Da Nang cultivate the kind of skills that will boost dorks’ sense of wellbeing.
One of Kelsey’s friends, Alex (a YouTuber and entrepreneur), was kind enough to record her session and do some interviews to cover the event, while learning more about the dork community and purpose for our events and activities.
We are all super grateful and excited for the progress that’s being made here. If you want to learn more about Kelsey and her coaching practices and philosophies, you can visit her website here!
