Meet Bence
There’s a new face in town. He’s big. He’s friendly. And everyone loves the guy. His name is Bence, and he’s elevating the #DorkDancing community in Da Nang in BIG ways.
Bence first joined the Dork Dancing community mid-September, after the second COVID19 lockdown in Da Nang. After 40+ days stuck indoors, he was ready to break free, meet new people, and let loose in a way he hadn’t before.
When he joined on that first day, he was a bit unsure. He held expectations that it would be super uncomfortable, but it only took him a few minutes to shatter those ideas. He really enjoyed #dorkdancing with us. He felt free and good.
Bence had lots of questions and curiosities. He wanted to learn more and get more engaged. He started where many others did; he joined us at #dorkdancing most every day. The heaviness of his presence was felt through his lightness.
Bence, like many of us, likes to play. He started contributing in small, but noticeable ways. When he dances, he doesn’t shy away; he engages with people, #dorkdancing alongside them introducing his moves or mimicking others.
Within one short week, he built his own #dorkdancing playlist, offering his music selection to our group. We very much liked his music and started incorporating that too. With his music playing loudly, he started organizing dancers to come closer, move around, or jump with the beat of the music.
After a couple weeks, it started to rain. But Bence didn’t mind. Instead, he suggested we dance, sparking the creation of a new event: #dorkdancing in the drizzle. He encouraged us to dance and have fun even while others may feel down and discouraged. He helped carry momentum and grow the #dorkdancing spirit even during difficult times between storms.
When we come to Dork Dancing now, we all look forward to seeing Bence. He adds so much to our group, lifting us up, contributing good ideas and good energies. Through his active engagement and acts of everyday leadership, Bence created #dorkdancing opportunity for himself and others. He’s giving first. That’s how we strive to do things.
For these reasons and more, Bence is our newest Dork Dancing host, leading #dorkdancing every Thursday and Sunday at 5PM. We have full confidence and trust in Bence that he will continue to grow our community here in Da Nang in meaningful and significant ways. We know this because he already has.
He’s got the speakers ready. Now he’s taking them to the streets.
Thank you Bence for everything that you are doing. We can’t wait to follow your lead, #dorkdancing with and alongside you!
Clean your mental health like you do your dental health. We clean our teeth twice a day. Let’s give that same level of care for our brains. Before, during, or after brushing your teeth, DANCE.
