Dork Dancing in Vietnam News! 🎉

Dork Dancing is in the news! Yay!! Very cool to see. We’re very appreciative of Vietnam News, the leading source of daily English news in Vietnam, for covering part of our story. Here’s a video they put together, sharing on their FB page, with over 55,000 people following on FB.

This coverage is nice exposure and captures some good fun. We hope with time we can share more of our story because Dork Dancing is a lot more than just dancing to feel better. Underneath Dork Dancing, we wish to share a MENTAL message. Call us MENTAL: this is our story to tell.

Dork Dancing is a kind of mental health advocacy. By #dorkdancing with us, you are helping spread a message and start an important conversation. We hope to normalize mental health conversation to overcome the stigma, because stigma is deadly. Collectively, our decision to keep silent is contributing to things as heavy and scary as suicide. You are not alone. So many are hurting heavily in silence.

If we can talk better, we can care better, and ultimately create a healthier and happier society.

Everyone has a mental health story. It’s time for people to start telling it. COVID19 has changed the world, spurring a global mental health crisis like we haven’t seen before. It’s time to unveil the curtains and for us to come out of our shells. Enough is enough. The world is suffering. We need to talk. It’s time to not only heal, but flourish. That’s the journey we are sharing.

Dork Dancing is an idea, a community, and a campaign. Dancing helps us feel better, but it also gives us a platform to go deeper. We are starting many different initiatives to try and further our MENTAL mission. We want to create opportunities for people to build stronger, healthier relationships around conversation topics that matter.

We have Dork Meetups, Dork Art, Call Us MENTAL, Dork Dinners, MENTAL Eats and a number of more initiatives that are currently in development, such as Dork Dates, MENTAL Talks, Dork Positive, etc, to continue exploring ways to provide value for the community. Your mental health matters. We’re on a mission to make that clear.

Dork Dancing depends entirely on charitable giving. We hope you may consider supporting by either donating or shopping.
