The Year it All Started
First Dork Dancing Event: June 14th, 2020
The biggest unaccounted expense of this year was Ethan’s full time work, for 6.5 months. Ethan used money from savings to pay for his cost of living in Da Nang, Vietnam.
Marketing expenses were the next biggest expense. Starting Dork Dancing involved a lot of print marketing. Also, this was our first time introducing those headbands, something helpful for building community.
Web expense were the next biggest expenses. Costs here include squarespace (what this website is built on), canva (a platform to help with design work), domain names (protecting the brand online) and Zoom (which was needed for online Dork Dancing during lockdown).
Contract work was another big startup cost for this year. We needed to document our activity via photography & videography to start communicating what we’re all about.
