Celebrating Our Anniversary

We (the dork hosts) had a plan to meet each other, in person, for the first time in 6 weeks! We wanted to celebrate our 1 year #dorkdancing anniversary by dancing on the beach...BUT security quickly spoiled these hopes, only adding fuel to our fire. We had so much energy and excitement, we had no option but to dance somewhere. Our relocation strategy was simple: Loving Vegan (a favorite local restaurant).

They so kindly allowed us to dance in their space, and we loved the adventure of doing something different.

This was really something fun. We all craved this in-person dancing for weeks and now that our time was finally here, we were more than ready. We had our typical warmup and everything. We got our sweat. Bouncing, swinging, hopping, jabbing. Nonstop moving. Dancing in a different location, socially distanced, it was like a mini flash mob. We loved it.

Later, we enjoyed great food and an AMAZING, decorated cake. LOVING VEGAN, seriously, played hero today, making this experience into something special for us!

There was something that felt really powerful about our time together. Dancing, eating, laughing, celebrating. This was something that we missed during lockdown 3.0. Being together again felt like home.

Thanh, a Dork, isn’t afraid of telling his friends: I love you. It’s something sweet that many of us don’t say enough to our friends. This word should not be reserved exclusively for romantic partners and family. It’s important to communicate love because people really need to hear it. It takes strength and courage to share something most people shy away from.

Well, that was great. Thank you dorks. Grateful for what has passed in year 1 and looking forward to the journey ahead in year 2! Let’s do this #dorkdancing every day thing once more around the sun.
